Amigurumi World

For my birthday Shannon got me an amigurumi book. I have made 4 things from it so far.

I realized after making a doggie and his puppy that I was crocheting wrong. So I watched some really good YouTube videos and learned how from Aunt Esther.

Here is the first one...

And here is the second one...

There may be more, but I just needed this much. They helped a bunch. Then I made an octopus and a penguin. However, I am still not doing it right because my penguin is about 12" tall and the pattern says he will be about 7". Hmm, mayhaps I'm not crocheting tight enough? I am usign the recommended hook size and have the right number of rows/stitches.

The penguin is adorable! I'll have to get some pics up later.

28 & 29: Blanket and Creature

With no camera still, you will have to excuse the poor image quality. But isn't too bad coming from my 2 year old phone.

A few months ago, my cousin Diana asked me to make her a blanket for her new daughter, Laura, who should come around any day now. So I made it. I finished it this weekend and made a cute little creature to go with it. This was my first blanket. The pattern can be found here. it's the Intarsia Polka-Dot Baby Blanket. It's about 40" by 40" when done. The creature pattern is the same as I used before. It can be found here.

26: Little Hand Warmer Buddy

I found these neat little guys a while ago. I haven't made them all, only one of them. But he is pretty cute and didn't take much time. So I may make some more. But what I'll do with them, I just don't know. The pattern is from knitty. The little rice sachet in their bottom gets very warm in the microwave as well.

25: Christmas Mittens

(picture from Michelle herself)

Michelle had a vision, a vision of Christmas mittens. I helped her vision become a reality.

I used a pattern from here. Now, you may notice that my mittens are not as "simple" as their mittens. I altered the pattern a little to get the hat effect and candy cane thumb. I also added a pom-pon to the top and an extra layer of white knit to the back to create a rim for the hat.

22-24: More Puppets

Continuing my new thing, I made some more finger puppets. The elephant, bird, and monkey. I didn't use a pattern, I kinda just followed the same idea as before and added when I thought I should. They might now be great (I don't like the elephant's trunk), but they are cute!

19-21: Finger Puppets

I don't have pictures of them all, but here is one of the three finger puppets I've made. The first two I made were a tan mouse and a black cat. I made them a while ago and I used a pattern from this place. The giraffe above, I made up based on what I learned from the previous link and what giraffes look like. I will add the pattern later.

18: Felted Heart

I knitted up this cute little Halloween heart in about 1.5 hours. That includes the knitting, felting, stitching, and stuffing. The only wool yarn I have is black and green. So I decided to make a little black one with orange eyes for Halloween. Really though, I have absolutely nothing to do with it.
